DNF at 35%This book starts with our 24 year old naïve virgin being thrown into a shifter world. The first day there, a man meets her at her cabin informing her that she is from a royal shifter line, and that she will be a breeder. Not just a breeder, but HIS. He's ready to knock her up immediately. Then after just meeting they proceed to kiss, and make out, he makes her cum etc. I mean, come on. She just met this guy. She knows nothing about him, this world, his family. NOTHING. If someone told me I was to be a breeder and I couldn’t leave, I'd find a way the hell out of town. There was absolutely no character depth. Each and every character felt incredibly one dimensional. Nothing about the characters, the story, or the world created felt realistic or enjoyable. The writing style was all over the place. Overall I found this book absolutely ridiculous and I love smut and shifter reads. This one just fell flat for me in all aspects. I couldn’t even force myself to continue. I'm glad it was offered as a freebie (which is why I'm rounding it up to a 2 star review rather than 1), but needless to say this will not be a series I continue.

If I could it would be 2.5 stars, 3 stars is genorous. The story is quite unbelievable. The main female character was acting totally different from their self professed descriptions but instead acted like an attention starved clinger on and it was just a lot going on for the book to just.....end. There is some action, mystery and decent sex scenes but it moved at a road runner pace with no real development . There are a lot of strings in the wind and a mass of activity and no real resolution.
amanda got a phone call one day saying that she had a relative that just passed away. she didnt know that she had any family left. she feels like shes being watched. she kept her dads car.
she drives to this little town. where everything just seems to nice. the people are friendly and shes not used to that. she meets the attorney, and she gets a big surprise. Her aunt left her an hole estate and land. she dont know what to think because her family died before they could tell her what she is. so her attorney said he could rent her a cabin for a few nights until shes told everything.
then she meets Romeo who says they are going too mate and she has no say in it. she meets almost all his family in the first few hours and the truth comes out. so Romeo has to tell Amanda that they are shifters. of course she thinks their crazy.but she is getting caught up in her feeling for him and then all hell breaks lose. this book has drama, sex, mystery you wont be sorry you purchased this book
This is a good story but be warned it ends in a cliffhanger. Amanda knows nothing of her heritage until one day an attorney calls and says she has inherited her aunt's estate. She drives to a Podunk town and meets Romeo who tells her she is his and they will be mated and married. She of course is outraged at his high handed manner. Then things start going wrong including Amanda being kidnapped by Romeo's twin brother. There's a whole other story to that. This is also fairly short.
I read to about 27% and gave up. Not that it was overly horrible but just so clumped and hurried together (rushed is the word best fitting) that I made it so unbelievable for a fictitious book. This was a caveman book, you my wife, I'm your husband, let's have sex now. Okay! I'll use my time on something with substance.
Our heroine says she's her own person, independent. But when she's kidnapped, she falls willingly into bed with our hero (her kidnapper) who happily informs her that her purpose in life is to warm his bed and squeeze out babies. Sure. Because every kidnap victim is just giddy about the change in circumstance. And he's the good guy.
But wait, it gets better. Our orphaned heroine also discovers that she has family who have watched over her, but never contacted her to keep her safe from the "bad" relatives who are labeled witches, but apparently are fae.
To improve our story, we have stilted dialogue, spelling errors, missing and/or incorrect words, and generally amateurish writing.
If you like a kidnapping romance with a heroine whose reaction and action is more realistic, don't read this book. If you like a hero who isn't a very nice guy and has a legitimate background for his male chauvinism, don't read this book. I can recommend a better written novella for you if you do.
Female MC is an idiot. She accepts everything way to quick. Then we are suppose to believe some male who says that I have know since you were young that you were the one for me, & by the way, I have had many women. I call BS. Pet peeve...you do not tell someone you have been it for me, but I could control myself and had to stick it in as many femalea as possible. To top ot off female MC is a virgin. Most of my pet peeves in one story. Lovely(heavy sarcasm). Nope. Not the story for me.
I agree with the 1 and 2 star reviewers. I felt I was reading the writings of a teenager who had not paid attention in English class. Please, people. if you are going to write, get yourself to a bookstore and pick up a good book on grammar. Then, if you're writing about romance, take the online romance writing course from Temple University. It's excellent. Get people to proofread your story. Continuity was poor.
Not using contractions made the writing stiff and sounding like the character Data on Star Trek. The H seemed like a goofhead. His character was shallow. The h vacillated so much I thought I was getting whiplash.
Yes, the book was free but I have read other free books that were far superior to this one. I slugged through to the end and guess what was there ... A BIG 'OLE CLIFFHANGER.
