An honest and real re-telling of the adolescent struggle blindly trying to understand the world, the people in it, our own place in it and ourselves whilst still trying to make as few insane, idiotic decisions as possible. This coming-of-age tale spliced with a tumultuous romance is told for young adults by a young adult. Though young readers particularly will love this book because it illustrates the problems, emotions and decisions taken directly out of their own world, others outside this demographic will enjoy this book because, though we may age, we perpetually long for the same things we search for as teens love and acceptance.

This book is superb! The story itself is personifies to today's adaptive culture and society of what we perceive as culturally acceptable normalcy. I quite enjoyed this story with much enthusiasm- having said that we'll done on the characteristics the traits the realism yet still incorporating some fantasy base element into the story as a whole. Great diction for high school kids, if I could critique anything negative about it: incorporate more of the background characters thoughts lives and ideas for ex: Zach,Conner,Chris you walk away not knowing much on their background. Otherwise EXCELLENT job and well done. 8/10Product details

That Freak Kid eBook Samantha Stemler Reviews
I related to it so well and it made me all emotional and gahhhh that was the best book ever. This is my all time favorite book. Omg. I felt connected to the characters and it was like watching a movie in my head that i hoped would never end. But sadly, it did ._. I honestly hate that this wasn't like a never-ending book. Do they even have those? Lol xD but yea the point is, I freaking love this book!!<3
This was a pretty good teen book. I'm an adult but I rather liked it. Reminded me of school with all the cliques and bullying. The main characters were likable though and I liked the way they handled themselves amongst the bullying. The story was believable too.
It was actually a rather pleasant read until it got towards the end with Devin and the threat. At that point it just seemed like the author was adding over-the-top drama to have drama. Not to mention the fact that David shutting out his entire family - I understand the parents but his brother and sister, too? And the fact that the only resolution in the end was the romantic relationship. The whole situation with Amy and her family was just left at nothing.
This book is wonderful I almost cried when they were fighting which was really sad but it had all worked out and my life,is somewhat, similar to the girls beginning to end of the book. Absolutely loved this book @samanthastemler please make more,of these a series or something love the work
This story examines the Goth personal lifestyle that I was not familiar with and I learned a lot. But what made this book enjoyable was the clear plotting and and straight-forward storytelling that is so much more fascinating than flashbacks and convoluted plot development. I loved the characters and would definitely recommend the book and look for more of this author's work.
I was a bit skeptical in buying it because I thought "only a bad book would be priced this low," but I was wrong. When I first started reading this book, it was very hard for me to put away. And though I don't listen to Manson's music, it was interesting to read about. I really felt like I could relate to both Amy and Jack in different ways, I thought their character development was excellent.
There were some errors I caught throughout the book (mostly grammatical), but overall I thought that it was a good story with plot twists I wasn't really expecting (like Amy's family situation). If I had the time, I probably would've been finished with this book in a day!
I felt many different emotions while reading this book...I loved every second of it,and I felt everything the characters did. not many people can say that about a book,it has to be really good. This book is really good. I cried, laughed my ass off, yelled, and even just sat staring at the pages for 5 minutes just to do it because i simply love the book. I really do wish a second book would come along with this one. I hate to be done with it, now I have nothing to do with my life. I would usually find another book but nothing cool beat this book. I am actually pretty gothic/emo/punk myself and I went through a lot of the same things the characters did. Even loosing close friends to suicide. I just loved the book and I would consider buying it, it would be stupid not to!
